App Developer | Sports and Gambling Data

Variance Incorporated (The Transfer Flow and Variance Betting) are hiring.

We're building web applications that turn sports and gambling data into insight. Our stack runs on AWS with Node.js, React, and Python across four layers: DevOps, Data, Models, and Apps. We're looking for someone to own the Apps layer.

This is where our data meets our users. You'll take rich, clean data from our internal APIs and turn it into applications that people actually want to use—clear, fast, and beautiful.

What you'll do

You'll build Next.js applications that visualise sports and gambling data in ways that surface insight and drive decisions. You'll work closely with our data team to shape APIs around real product needs. You'll have significant input into what we build and how it looks.

What we're looking for

- Strong experience with Next.js and React

- An eye for data visualisation—you know how to make numbers tell a story

- A flair for product design and strong opinions about UX

- Comfort consuming REST APIs and shaping data for the frontend

- Familiarity with modern CSS and responsive design

- Comfortable and enthused about using agentic LLMs to write code—ideally Claude Code

- A couple of years' experience, or equivalent depth from personal projects

Above all, you genuinely care about sports and gambling data. You want to work somewhere your contributions matter, with a small team that's building something real.
