Data Engineer

Pacers Sports & Entertainment is seeking a visionary Artificial Intelligence Strategy & Execution Manager to serve as the focal point for AI across the company - driving strategy, enabling execution, and evangelizing the transformative potential of AI across all PS&E business units.

The Artificial Intelligence Strategy & Execution Manager will serve as the central hub for all AI initiatives at PS&E - from strategic planning to hands-on enablement. This leader will partner with executives, department heads, and technical teams to identify high-impact opportunities for AI and automation, champion AI literacy across the organization, and ensure that PS&E stays ahead of the curve in applying AI to business challenges, fan engagement, and operational excellence.

This is both a strategic and applied role: part AI program leader, part innovation evangelist, part solution architect.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • AI Strategy & Leadership
    • Define and lead the company-wide AI vision, roadmap, and adoption strategy in alignment with CIO/CTO leadership and corporate objectives.
    • Evaluate and prioritize AI opportunities across departments (Marketing, Operations, Ticketing, HR, Finance, and Fan Experience).
    • Serve as the primary AI point of contact for business leaders seeking to apply AI tools and solutions to their operations.
    • Partner with the VP of Data and data engineering teams to ensure the right infrastructure, pipelines, and governance are in place for responsible AI use.
  • Innovation & Implementation
    • Lead exploration and experimentation with emerging AI technologies — including generative AI, computer vision, predictive modeling, and natural language tools.
    • Translate business needs into scalable, ethical AI solutions (build, buy, or integrate).
    • Oversee proof-of-concepts (POCs) and pilot programs; define metrics for success and help teams operationalize results.
    • Partner with IT and Security to ensure AI tools meet privacy, governance, and cybersecurity standards.
  • Evangelism & Enablement
    • Act as PS&E’s AI evangelist — educating internal teams on capabilities, limitations, and responsible use of AI.
    • Develop and lead internal workshops, training, and “AI awareness” programs to elevate organizational literacy.
    • Collaborate with communications and HR to promote innovation success stories and encourage cross-departmental collaboration.
  • Governance & Ethics
    • Work closely with Legal, Security, and Privacy teams to establish and maintain responsible AI use guidelines and policies.
    • Ensure transparency, fairness, and accountability in all AI applications.
    • Evaluate and mitigate bias, data misuse, or compliance risks.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.   • 7+ years of experience in AI, machine learning, data science, or technology innovation roles.
  • Proven success leading AI adoption, innovation programs, or applied ML solutions in a business setting.
  • Strong understanding of AI tools, frameworks, and cloud ecosystems (e.g., OpenAI, Vertex AI, Azure AI, Hugging Face, LangChain, etc.).
  • Experience bridging technical and non-technical teams — excellent communication and storytelling skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects from concept through deployment and measurement.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or Engineering required; Master’s or MBA preferred.
  • Passion for sports, entertainment, and how AI can transform fan and business experiences.
