Overview
The Columbus Crew is seeking a dependable and motivated Data Operations Specialist to join our Business Analytics team. This early-career role supports essential data functions across the organization by building and maintaining reliable data processes and improving overall data quality. This position is ideal for someone beginning their professional career in data engineering, information systems, or analytics and excited to grow their skills on the job.

Interest in sports is welcomed, but this is a data-first role.

What You Will Do

• Develop, maintain, and support ETL integrations and data pipelines.
• Write and optimize SQL queries, views, functions, and stored procedures.
• Monitor and validate data accuracy across multiple systems.
• Identify data quality issues and implement corrective solutions.
• Gather requirements from business stakeholders and translate them into technical solutions.
• Analyze and reengineer existing workflows to improve efficiency and reliability.
• Create and maintain flowcharts and process documentation.
• Develop and publish reports and dashboards.
• Support data processes during business-critical periods, including games and events.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems (MIS), Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or a related technical discipline.
• Approximately 0–1 years of professional experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, business intelligence, or related technical work.
• Demonstrated foundational knowledge of relational databases and SQL.
• Technical skills including SQL (Microsoft T-SQL preferred), ETL tools (SSIS or equivalent), and reporting tools (Tableau, SSRS, or similar).
• Basic object-oriented programming experience (C# or similar) and experience documenting processes or creating workflow diagrams.
