The Los Angeles Dodgers Technology Department seeks a highly skilled, independently operating Broadcast Technology Engineer to lead and direct production, post-production, audio, and video technology for the organization. This is a senior-level professional role requiring the exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significant organizational consequence, including vendor selection, capital technology investments, architecture decisions, and the establishment of enterprise-wide technical standards. The incumbent operates with minimal supervision, serves as the organization's definitive authority on broadcast technology, and is empowered to make decisions that directly impact the quality, reliability, and strategic direction of all broadcast and production operations at Dodger Stadium and beyond.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

Strategic Technology Leadership

The Broadcast Technology Engineer independently leads the evaluation, selection, design, and implementation of broadcast, production, post-production, and LED technologies for the Los Angeles Dodgers. The incumbent exercises autonomous judgment in making final recommendations on significant technology investments that carry major financial and operational consequences for the organization, and such recommendations are acted upon by senior leadership without detailed re-evaluation. Specific responsibilities include:

• Independently evaluate, compare, and select broadcast and production technologies, making definitive recommendations on capital expenditures and vendor partnerships based on independent analysis of organizational needs, performance data, and industry trends.

• Exercise final authority in establishing, documenting, and enforcing technical standards and compliance frameworks across all production and post-production workflows, including video formats, signal distribution architectures, cybersecurity controls, and system integration protocols.

• Independently direct architecture decisions for all A/V system installations and upgrades, including developing technical drawings, schematics, and documentation that define the organization's technology infrastructure — decisions that are implemented by contractors and vendors based on the Engineer's specifications alone.

• Lead research and analysis of emerging broadcast and production technologies, independently authoring recommendations that guide the organization's multi-year technology roadmap and capital planning.

• Exercise discretion in prioritizing technology investments, maintenance schedules, and operational improvements to align with organizational priorities and financial constraints.

Subject Matter Authority & Organizational Advising

The Broadcast Technology Engineer serves as the organization's definitive technical authority on all broadcast and stadium technology, providing expert guidance upon which senior leadership, other departments, and external partners rely without independent verification. This includes:

• Act as the sole internal expert on all stadium technology systems, including LED display infrastructure, DodgerVision control room, video and audio distribution facilities, DANTE networks, SMPTE cabling, and all future technology initiatives — advising leadership on risk, feasibility, and strategic direction.

• Independently represent the Dodgers as the technical liaison to MLB, broadcast networks, media rights holders, and local broadcasters, making binding technical commitments on behalf of the organization regarding camera and truck feeds, signal handoffs, and broadcast standards compliance.

• Provide authoritative guidance to senior leadership on cybersecurity control frameworks governing broadcast systems, independently assessing organizational exposure and recommending remediation strategies.

• Author and maintain technical manuals, production standards documentation, and compliance records that serve as the organization's official reference for broadcast operations.

Broadcast Operations Leadership & Quality Assurance

The Engineer exercises independent professional judgment to ensure optimal performance of all broadcast and production technologies during live events, applying expertise to diagnose complex system issues, determine corrective action, and prevent operational disruptions without escalation to supervisors. Specific responsibilities include:

• Independently analyze system performance across all control room technologies — including video routers, audio mixers, graphics, replay, video switchers, intercoms, production and robotic cameras, and LED controls — and determine corrective measures based on professional expertise.

• Independently assess and resolve all technical issues related to broadcast, production, and post-production systems during live events, exercising sole discretion in determining solutions when escalation is not feasible.

• Direct the management of video feeds to and from outside vendors including MLB Network and media rights holders, making independent judgments about feed quality, archive priorities, and distribution decisions.

Systems Design, Integration & Compliance Oversight

• Independently plan, design, install, and maintain wired and wireless Intercom, Video Routing Switcher, public address, and ballpark sound systems, exercising professional judgment to ensure operational standards are met.

• Analyze system specifications and independently determine maintenance and upgrade schedules for all A/V systems to ensure optimal, compliant performance.

• Ensure all broadcast systems are designed, configured, and maintained in alignment with industry security control frameworks and applicable cybersecurity standards, independently identifying gaps and implementing remediations.

• Oversee collaboration with external departments and vendors on A/V installations, independently directing technical scope and reviewing vendor work product for compliance with organizational standards.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

While this role does not carry formal supervisory authority over direct reports, the Broadcast Technology Engineer regularly and independently directs the work of contractors, vendors, and technical crews on broadcast and production projects. The Engineer exercises professional authority to assign work, establish technical standards, review deliverables, and approve or reject vendor implementations. This functional leadership is a core and ongoing responsibility of the role.

Basic Requirements/Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Audio Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred. Equivalent combination of education and professional experience demonstrating mastery of broadcast technology will be considered.

• Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible experience in AV system design, installation, and support with demonstrated autonomous decision-making authority.

• Minimum 5 years of experience managing broadcast-quality, large-scale stadium or arena live sporting events and maintaining broadcast television or production equipment at a professional level.

• Demonstrated history of independently directing technology projects from concept through implementation, with final decision-making authority.

• Expert-level knowledge of broadcast 2110 IP workflows and all sub-streams, including independent ability to design, configure, and troubleshoot complex system issues without supervision.

• Deep expertise in production and post-production equipment, workflows, and software plug-ins, with demonstrated ability to independently resolve technical issues.

• Advanced knowledge of audio mixing and consoles, including independent ability to mix and fine-tune large-scale live events with multiple microphones and complex signal routing.

• Proficiency with AV software control systems (e.g., Crestron), Quantum Storage, and CATDV asset management platforms.

• Demonstrated ability to exercise independent professional judgment on matters of significant financial and operational consequence.

• Ability to independently produce technical documentation, architectural schematics, and compliance records that serve as the organization's official standards.

• Ability to independently produce technical documentation, architectural schematics, and compliance records that serve as the organization’s official standards.
