Position OverviewThe PEI Fellowship is an immersive opportunity for emerging professionals interested in applied player evaluation, performance systems, and interdisciplinary integration within professional baseball. This role supports the development of evaluation frameworks that connect scouting insights, player development processes, and analytical models into a cohesive decision-making system.

The Fellow will be primarily based in Jupiter, FL for the majority of the season, with opportunities to travel to affiliate locations and assist with Domestic Scouting PEI events.

This is an hourly, minimum wage position ($14/hour).

What We’re Looking ForWe are seeking a motivated, hard-working individual who enjoys solving complex problems and building systems that help us better understand players. The ideal candidate is intellectually curious, creative, and interested in bridging theory with practical baseball applications.

Key Responsibilities* Assist in designing and implementing evaluation frameworks for player assessment

• Support data collection, integration, and quality control across scouting and player development environments
• Contribute to research initiatives focused on improving the understanding of player performance and development
• Develop tools, reports, and visualizations to support internal decision-making
• Collaborate with staff across scouting, player development, and analytics
• Assist with on-site PEI initiatives during affiliate visits and scouting events

Qualifications* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or a related quantitative/technical field

• Strong problem-solving skills and systems-level thinking
• Evidence-based mindset with comfort working in applied research environments
• Creative, innovative, and intellectually curious
• High attention to detail and strong work ethic
• Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to a variety of baseball stakeholders

Preferred Experience (Not Required)* Statistical analysis

• Data visualization
• Applied problem solving
• Familiarity with player tracking or performance technologies (Force Plates, GPS units, TrackMan, Blast, etc.)
• Experience with conceptual frameworks or predictive modeling
