Red Bull are seeking a Data Scientist with strong sports domain knowledge to apply advanced analytics, machine learning and AI to athlete and performance data.

The position brings together data science and applied sports performance, translating complex datasets into actionable insights that can support athletes, practitioners and performance decision-making.

The Role

The successful candidate will apply advanced data-science techniques within a sporting environment, working with data relating to athletes, training, competition, physiology and wearable technologies.

The role requires someone capable of moving beyond analysis alone, using predictive modelling, data products and AI applications to turn complex information into meaningful and usable performance insights.

Areas of Expertise

Candidates should demonstrate:

• Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD in Data Science, Statistics, Sports Science, Computer Science, Engineering or a related quantitative discipline.
• Strong expertise in data science and statistics.
• Advanced knowledge of machine learning.
• Strong programming capability in Python and SQL.
• Experience developing and applying predictive models.
• Experience with performance analysis and data products.
• Understanding and practical application of AI technologies.
• Strong domain knowledge within sport.
• Experience working with athlete and sports-performance datasets.

Sports Performance Data

Relevant experience includes working with one or more of the following:

Athlete Data | Training Data | Competition Data | Physiological Data | Wearable Data

A key requirement is the ability to translate these complex datasets into clear, actionable insights rather than simply producing analytical outputs.

Communication & Collaboration

Alongside technical expertise, candidates should demonstrate strong:

• Communication skills.
• Stakeholder management.
• Ability to explain complex analytical concepts clearly.
• Ability to connect data-science outputs with practical sports-performance needs.

English fluency is required, while German is considered an advantage.

Travel
