Keene SwampBats - Public Address PA Intern

The PA Intern is responsible for ensuring a smooth flow of all 22 home games with informative, professional,  and entertaining commentary that enhances the audience’s event experience. They will read prepared scripts, ad-lib commentary as necessary, and work with staff to understand program flow, ensuring that announcements are made in a timely manner. Their tasks include: 

• Responsible for game-day announcing for all home SwampBats games
• Reads pre-game announcements, introduction of the National Anthem, first pitch(es), pregame ceremonies, and player introductions
• Reads in-game announcements of game events, and scripted announcements during stoppages of play
• Reads sponsor announcements and advertisements
• Ability to adapt to quickly changing game situations
• Knowledge and understanding of rules and statistics of baseball
• Ad-lib commentary as necessary
• Strive to enhance the fan experience
• Ensure all technical equipment is functioning
• Maintains a professional demeanor and appearance
• Other duties as assigned

Minimum Skills and Qualifications

• Proven work experience as a PA announcer for baseball / live sports
• Strong, pleasant voice with attention to proper pronunciations
• Strong attention to detail
• Expressive, clear, and controlled, and varied vocal skills
• Knowledge and understanding of rules and statistics of baseball
• Familiarity with technical audio equipment
• Ability to think and work a live event under high pressure
• Must be able to work weekdays, weekends, holidays and nights

Additional Info: This is a full time job and runs from late May - mid August. This is an unpaid internship, but we provide housing, a game-night meal, full access to a 24/7 gym, and a $400 stipend. Your own transportation is encouraged but not necessary.
