Reporting to: Coordinator Marketing and Retail

Major Purpose: The Intern, Marketing and Retail for the Jackie Robinson Training Complex (JRTC) assists with day-to-day marketing, communications and retail operations activities and initiatives. These responsibilities include but are not limited to traditional media, social media, corporate partnerships, media relations, and community relations. The intern of Marketing and Retail will also assist with day-to-day operations and responsibilities of our onsite gift shop and retail operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist with development and execution of the JRTC marketing plan.
• Assist with posting and executing content development for advertising campaigns,  including traditional media and social media.
• Collaborate on creating and producing content for all JRTC social media platforms.
• Collaborate on production of email marketing campaigns.
• Assist the Coordinator of Marketing and Retail with retail activities including purchasing, inventory, shipping and receiving, and POS management.
• Help to facilitate all media relations activities and communications, including helping to monitor Google alerts, write press releases, and coordinate interviews with local media outlets.
• Assist with seeking out opportunities to engage the local media to garner positive press for JRTC.
• Work alongside the Coordinator of Marketing and Retail to develop positive community relations for the JRTC.
• Assist with creating and completing internal graphic design needs and collaborating with MLB design services and third party vendors.
• Assist with creation, production, and placement of internal signage needs.
• Assist with keeping the JRTC website content up to date.
• Assist the Coordinator of Marketing and Retail with special event coordination such as the Andre Dawson Classic,, and the Jackie Robinson Day Minor League Baseball Game
• Attend local exhibiting functions in order to promote the JRTC as a venue for meetings, parties, reunions, etc.
• Other duties as assigned by the Coordinator of Marketing and Retail.
