What We Do

Driving the plug-in power behind Unreal Engine 5. We bridge connections for licensees and our own internal game teams to online services. This allows games like Fortnite to utilize a combination of platform online services as well as Epic’s own online services to build cross-platform online features. Login, parties, voice chat, matchmaking, purchasing, cloud storage, and analytics are just a few examples of online features that our Online Game Services team helps games utilize.

What You'll Do

The KWS team is looking for a Senior Developer to join the team to enable us to deliver more great features to our partners and to other teams in Epic. We are in the process of bringing together our KWS Data Engineering and KWS Developer Experience teams under one Engineering Lead and you will join that group, reporting to the new Engineering Lead.

In this role, you will

• Be part of the KWS development team, completing tickets, giving sprint demos, etc
• Take the lead role in cross team projects
• Work on any part of the stack to deliver a feature but some experience in data engineering, front-end development or both
• Own the changes you make all the way through development to production
• Consider security, reliability and maintainability in the code you write with a focus on scale
• Undertake code reviews collaboratively and constructively and Work with other teams across Epic
• Work with product managers, designers and others across the KWS team to get input into your work and provide input to their work

What we're looking for

• Excellent programming abilities — Full-stack expertise in React and Node.js — Open to candidates with compatible skill sets.
• Experience across both front-end and back-end systems
• Experience in Data Engineering
• Experience in cloud-based application (preferably AWS)
• Experience working with databases and queues which include sensitive data
• Keenness to learn and share learnings with other team members
• Enthusiasm for kids’ safety online
