Senior Full Stack Software Engineer

Kickoff is an AI-enabled wellness super app and coaching service. Our mission is to give everyone in the world access to life-changing healthy habit formation, so they can live healthier, happier lives. We consolidate all things wellness in one place - from exercise to nutrition to sleep and mindfulness - and deliver personalized recommendations daily via a dedicated human coach. The Role
We are looking for an amazing NYC-based senior full stack software engineer to own big projects leveraging GenAI APIs/tools, React, React Native, Node, Next.js, Serverless, and GraphQL. This role will be responsible for leveraging the latest technology to further our mission while also helping to define company strategy and culture. Engineering is at the core of what we do, so we're looking for engineers who want to push the envelope on what's possible with technology. What the job involves:

• Owning big projects that change lives in big ways - 85% of your time will be spent building and iterating
• Collaborating with the team to gain more insight and context about user needs and the product - 15% of your time will be spent here conducting quant analysis, talking to users, and brainstorming with the team
• Leveraging Generative AI and other cutting edge tech to wow our clients and coaches and deliver new value to users
• Harnessing our data to identify what drives positive behavior changes that make clients faster, stronger, healthier, and happier
• Fine turning our algorithms to optimize exercise and nutrition recommendations to clients and incorporating machine learning to take those recommendations to the next level
• Launching gamified social dashboards to enable clients to compete and collaborate with friends and family in all their fitness endeavors
• Building coach-facing tools that automate the busy work and empower them to drive incredible results with their clients
• Making architectural decisions that keep our systems scaling smoothly with the rapid growth of our business

Who you are:

• Software Engineer with 4+ years of full stack experience
• Strong javascript experience, e.g. React, Node, Next.js
• Strong analytical and SQL skills
• An incredible problem solver - no challenge is too complex
• Experienced collaborating with product and designers
• Product-minded: You have opinions about what you build and you are comfortable building with minimalist specs if needed as long as you have strong context about user and business needs
• Passionate about fitness + wellness and real world impact
• Startup mindset - able to move very quickly and ok with imperfect MVPs
• Focused on building and coding, not on people management or excessive process
• Excited to collaborate in person with product, design, and other engineers

Bonus points

• Experience with Generative AI/ LLMs
• Strong design skills
• Familiarity with GraphQL and/or Serverless
• DevOps experience, particularly in the AWS ecosystem
