The Role
Legend is hiring a Senior Backend Developer, reporting directly to our Engineering Manager.The ideal candidate for this role is an experienced backend engineer, passionate about designing and implementing scalable, data-driven applications. They will have a strong track record in driving architectural improvements, optimizing system performance, and setting technical standards, while effectively breaking down large-scale projects into manageable tasks. With a focus on mentorship and fostering continuous learning, they will inspire the team to write clean, efficient code and maintain a culture of technical excellence. Your Impact:

• Lead the design and implementation of scalable, data and event driven applications, optimizing system performance and reliability.
• Drive significant architectural improvements, setting the technical direction and standards for the team.
• Break down large-scale projects into manageable tasks, ensuring efficient progress and collaboration among engineers.
• Guide and mentor backend engineers in writing clean, readable and well structured code, fostering an environment of continuous learning and technical excellence.

What You’ll Bring:

• 5+ years of professional experience as a backend software developer (preferably in PHP)
• Extensive experience in designing and development of distributed applications, microservices, data driven and event driven applications.
• Solid knowledge of OOP, design patterns, distributed software architecture and MVC frameworks (Laravel would be considered as plus)
• Experience with relational DBs , version control systems (Git or similar), DevOps / CI / CD.
• Experience in Sports projects is considered as a plus

The Interview Process:

• 1st: Initial Chat with Talent Partner (30 minute video interview via Zoom)
• 2nd: Technical Interview with our team - Engineering manager and Senior Backend Developer (60 minute video interview via Zoom)
• 3rd: Take home task - you will be given 5 days to complete the task
• 4th: Code review (30 minute video via Zoom)
