**ABOUT PORTLAND WNBA:*Professional women’s basketball is returning to Rip City. On September 18, 2024, the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA) awarded Portland its 15th franchise, bringing the league back to the city for the first time in over two decades. Owned and operated by the Bhathal family through RAJ Sports, the team will make its official debut in 2026 at the Moda Center. Portland is cementing itself as the epicenter of women’s sports, powered by a passionate fan base and a rich basketball culture. THE ROLE:
The Director of Business Intelligence will play a critical role in laying the data foundation that powers our Portland WNBA business. This position will be responsible for designing and operationalizing a smart, scalable analytics infrastructure, delivering actionable insights to drive fan acquisition, ticket sales, partnerships, digital performance, and more. You’ll partner cross-functionally to help drive data-informed strategies that fuel both growth and impact. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the analytics culture from the ground up. 
 WHAT YOU’LL BE UP TO:
Develop and implement the business intelligence roadmap, aligning with business objectives across revenue, engagement, and brand growth.

  • Build and maintain core date infrastructure, including pipelines, dashboards, and tools that enable accurate and timely insights across departments.
  • Delivery high-impact reporting for leadership and key stakeholders, including KPIs, trends, and opportunities for optimization.
  • Conduct analyses on ticket sales, marketing campaigns, fan engagement, and partnership performance.
  • Analyze ticket sales data to guide ticketing team with pricing and sales optimization strategies, including dynamic pricing and seat utilization.
  • Partner with marketing team to evaluate and enhance campaign effectiveness through data-driven testing, segmentation, and personalization strategies
  • Lead fan-centric acquisition and engagement campaigns across social, email, digital, and mobile marketing platforms.
  • Collaborate with external vendors, digital partners, and internal departments to implement and manage CRM systems, analytics platforms, and MarTech tools.
  • Serve as the central source of truth for data, championing best practices in data governance, collection, and utilization.

WHAT IT TAKES:* 6+ years of experience in business intelligence, data analytics, or digital strategy, ideally in sports, entertainment, or consumer brands.

  • Proven track record of building and maintaining scalable analytics systems and infrastructure.
  • Superior technical and functional experience in Excel, BI tools, data visualization tools, and data management systems (examples: Tableau, Power BI, Snowflake, SQL, StellarAlgo).
  • Experience with CRM systems and marketing analytics tools.
  • Expertise with MarTech solutions.
  • Experience with fan data, audience segmentation, and customer journey analysis
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and collaboration skills.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit with a willingness to roll up your sleeves and build something new.
