Business Analyst

The Washington Commanders are hiring a Business Analyst, reporting to the Director, Business Intelligence, who will work within the BI team to provide insights in support of strategic initiatives and decision making across the organization. The Business Analyst will work alongside the Business Intelligence team and help to spearhead a strategic and analytical approach to our business, working collaboratively across departments to improve reporting and insights. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate advanced analytical skills, serve as a subject matter expert in reporting functionality, and possess the ability to succinctly visualize and communicate findings to drive the business forward. Responsibilities:·        Conduct analysis to support key strategic organizational decision making

·        Leveraging Power BI, build and maintain suite of business intelligence dashboards and reports out of data warehouse to support multiple departments across the organization

·        Work with department leadership to identify key insights from large data sets and create visualizations displaying those key insights; work to assess, present, and implement solutions for business needs

·        Develop ticket pricing strategy through primary and secondary market analysis

·        Conduct qualitative research to understand customer expectations and areas of opportunity, conduct demographic research to understand consumer base

·        Support Business Intelligence department efforts as needed with elated tasks and projects to support business needs

·        Increase the availability of meaningful information and improve decision making effectiveness using self-service reporting, analytics tools and generating readily available dashboards

·        Work closely with department leaders, understand and translate unstructured questions into data analysis and create a roadmap for potential data solutions, including creating new processes and/or improving on existing practices

·        Perform data analysis using R / Python models to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement

·        Work closely with Director and Data Engineer to add business logic and new data sources into existing data warehouse, primarily in the ticket sales and marketing vertical

·        Collaborate to ensure accuracy of existing data and created reports - troubleshooting errors, and working to resolve issues in a timely manner

Qualifications:·        5+ years of experience in an analytical focused role is required

·        Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related fields with record of strong academic achievement or previous experience performing data analytics

·        Proficiency with SQL or similar database querying languages

·        Proficiency with Power BI or similar data visualization tools

·        Experience with R or Python a plus

·        Understands the importance of Data Quality & Integrity in reporting reliable and trustworthy data

·        Excellent organization, documentation, and communication skills

·        Excellent analytical skills – must be able to independently work with large amounts of data, extract relevant information for analysis, and summarize in data visualizations

·        Demonstrated leader who is passionate about learning and solving problems as both an individual and part of a team ensuring collaboration is aligned to our core values. 

·        Ability to work successfully with some ambiguity, including some weekends/non-standard hours

Salary: $75,000-$85,000 + Bonus
