Part-Time Data Scientist Assistant - NHL

Job Summary:

This position will work with hockey data to fulfill given directives as well as the ability to create new projects and communicate results. This role will be part of a team-based environment in the hockey analytics department. Here is a unique opportunity to create impactful solutions in a growth-minded environment and culture. May work local or remote.

Required Qualifications:

·       Computer Science, Math, Engineering or Physics major or degree

·       Experience writing modern Python code

·       Experience using SQL or NoSQL databases

·       Familiarity with Git/VCS

·       Ability to write geometric and physics analyses

·       Ability to problem solve and a desire for personal development

·       Experience working in a team-based environment

·       Ability to interpret results and communicate effectively

Preferred Qualifications:

·       Experience/knowledge of statistics and probability

·       Experience working with time series data

·       Machine learning concepts and applications

·       Advanced statistical modelling

·       Familiarity working with sports data
