Overview

We are looking for a visionary and experienced leader to spearhead our initiatives in utilizing artificial intelligence to elevate the sport and enhance fan engagement. This role is essential for driving innovation through state-of-the-art Gen AI solutions and transforming the way fans interact with the game.

Responsibilities

• Drive the development and delivery of innovative AI solutions to improve fan engagement.
• Lead a team of machine learning engineers to develop advanced machine learning models, while effectively managing vendors to ensure alignment with strategic objectives and project timelines.
• Lead the AI Center of Excellence by establishing best practices, setting strategic goals, and driving innovation to ensure the delivery of impactful AI solutions. This includes but is not limited to fostering cross-functional collaboration, staying ahead of emerging AI trends, and implementing frameworks to measure the success and scalability of AI initiatives.
• Mentor team members by fostering growth and encouraging innovation through training and collaboration.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders to align AI initiatives with business goals and objectives.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree required; master's or PhD in Computer Science or a related field preferred.
• 10+ years of experience in building and deploying machine learning solutions in production environments, demonstrating a blend of hands-on technical expertise and leadership capabilities.

Qualifications

• Extensive hands-on experience with large language models (LLMs), state-of-the-art vision models, and developing generative AI applications.
• Proven ability to architect, build, and launch AI features and solutions on cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Demonstrated leadership experience in managing and mentoring teams, while actively contributing to technical development and problem-solving.
• Strong understanding of business assessments to seamlessly align AI initiatives with strategic objectives, ensuring both innovation and practical implementation.
• High-level of commitment to a quality work product and organizational ethics, integrity and compliance
• Ability to work effectively in a fast paced, team environment
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing
• Demonstrated decision making and problem-solving skills
• High attention to detail with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook

Total Rewards

Major League Soccer offers a competitive starting base salary of $215,000 - $235,000, based on individual qualifications, market financials, and operational business needs. As a result, employees are required to work from an MLS office at least four days a week.
