WHAT WE EXPECT OF YOU

SUMMARY
The primary responsibility of this position is to create and deliver editorial content plans during night shift across NHL.com's foreign language websites. This person will work with the international editorial team on developing topics for writers and coordinating nightly content plans. The schedule for this position is primarily five nights per week from 7pm to 3am. 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES* Coordinate editorial assignments to international correspondents during night hours after games end

• Disseminate postgame player/coach sound to international correspondents during all shifts
• Ability to conduct player interviews at morning skates, practices and games upon request
• Cover NHL tent-pole events and other games/events deemed important to NHL.com international business
• Work with NHL.com international production team to make sure content is published accurately
• Ability to build articles in NHL.com international content management system (Forge)
• Potential for writing opportunities that would be used on foreign language websites
• A firm understanding of hockey, the players, teams and content important to NHL fans
• Responsible for producing content that meets business goals and objectives for NHL.com's international websites
• Willingness to work a varying schedule on days and nights

QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge Areas/Experience***Required 3-5 years of experience in sports journalism

• Experience making editorial decisions

Preferred* Knowledge of web production and/or Photoshop a plus

• Fluency in one of the seven NHL.com international languages is a plus, but not a requirement: Finnish, Swedish, German, Czech, Slovak or Spanish

Education/Certifications* Bachelor's Degree

Required Skills* Strong journalistic instincts

• Ability to work in a high-pressure, fast-paced sports environment
• Extremely organized with good interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to multi-task
• Should be a self-starter and motivated independent thinker
