Analytics Engineer, Baseball Research & Development

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF POSITION INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:

• Investigate new & existing data sources for quality and value, including analytical and machine learning models
• Build metrics & models to inform users of data quality issues
• Work closely with data analysts and other developers to integrate new work into productionalzed data flows
• Develop & maintain cloud based transactional databases and data warehouses
• Assemble & aggregate large, complex, & diverse data sets
• Identify & implement internal process improvements with automation & optimization
• Build infrastructure for optimal ETL process from a variety of data sources and formats
• Develop automated data quality reporting tools and dashboards
• Communication with stakeholders and executives regarding data related technical issues as well as development of new data products
• All other duties as assigned

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• B.S. Degree or higher in engineering, computer science, data science, a related technical field, or have equivalent work experience
• Experience in cloud computing, storage, and warehousing (AWS, GCP, Snowflake, etc)
• Strong programming background (Python, R, C#, Spark, etc)
• Experience with common statistical and machine learning methods
• Proficiency in data visualization principles, techniques, and software (e.g. Tableau, Power BI)
• Professional experience with SQL Server, postgres SQL, or other SQL technologies
• Familiarity with technologies relevant to data lakes, data warehousing, & job orchestration
• Familiarity with baseball analytics, data, & technologies
• Strong written, verbal, and visualization skills
• A creative mindset, open-mindedness, and desire to work in a learning culture
