Hours: 9:00 am - 5:00 pm / Monday - Friday

Compensation: The annual budgeted salary range for this position is $65,000 to $70,000

Role Summary:

As an Analyst, Analyticson the Business Strategy & Analytics (BSA) team, your primary focus will be on improving the business outcomes of our revenue-generating departments - Ticketing, Sponsorship, and Retail - by developing forecasting tools, building dashboards, creating automations, and generating actionable insights through analytics. This role is designed for candidates who thrive on using analytical tools to drive better decision-making and working hand in hand with our team to implement those solutions. 

Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Data Product Development
    • Apply statistical methodologies to manage data, anticipate scenarios, and prescribe strategic actions.
    • Formulate and test hypotheses, synthesize insights, and present recommendations through compelling narratives and presentations.
    • Deploy advanced analytics models (utilizing Python) by assisting in data preparation, feature engineering, and model deployment.
  2. Automation & Infrastructure
    • Identify opportunities for operational efficiency by automating existing workflows.
    • Support development of data models and ingestion pipelines for analytical projects.
  3. Business Analysis & Reporting
    • Communicate complex analytical findings in a clear and concise manner to facilitate data-driven decision-making across the organization.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Ticketing, Sponsorship, Marketing, Community Relations, etc.) to understand and execute against organizational objectives, including ensuring adoption of tools.
    • Build and maintain KPIs and reporting frameworks to assess ongoing performance, while proactively recommending improvements during program execution.
    • Leverage advanced SQL knowledge to extract, transform, and load data, designing robust data models to support analysis and reporting.
  4. Team Collaboration:
    • Foster collaboration using Agile methodologies and shared project management tools (e.g. Clickup, Github, AzureML).
  5. Innovation:
    • Analyze shifts in consumer behavior to inform new product development and market opportunities
    • Stay current on industry trends and best practices, actively integrating them into workflows

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • 1-3 years of experience in quantitative, analytical and/or client-facing roles
  • Degree in business analytics, computer science, statistics, economics, finance, or related fields
  • Technical Skills:
    1. Strong proficiency in SQL, with ability to write complex queries, optimize performance, and work with large data sets
    2. Experience with scripting languages such as R or Python (Python preferred)
    3. Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Streamlit, etc.)
    4. Experience with Salesforce, DBT, Snowflake, AzureML and/or Ticketmaster’s Archtics System a plus
  • Analytical Skills:
    1. Understanding of predictive and prescriptive modeling and optimization algorithms
    2. Business intuition in conjunction with analytical expertise, with the ability to describe analytical processes, including when and why specific approaches are favored
  • Soft Skills:
    1. Self-starter able to identify challenges, chart solutions, and execute improvements
    2. Exceptional problem-solving skills with the power to develop creative and efficient solutions
    3. Excellent communication skills with ability to demonstrate clear, concise articulation of scenarios, options, risks, mitigations, and recommendations to non-technical audiences
    4. Ability to manage priorities and work collaboratively across all levels of an organization to solve day-to-day challenges
  • Ability to adapt to occasional variations in schedule including working nights, weekends, and holidays as business needs dictate based on the event calendar.

The Chicago Blackhawks started their journey as one of the NHL’s “Original Six” professional ice hockey teams in 1926. Members of the Central Division in the NHL’s Western Conference and six-time Stanley Cup Champions (1934, 1938, 1961, 2010, 2013, 2015), the team calls the United Center home.
