Scouting and Video Analytics Intern

Position Summary We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented intern to support our Scouting Department within Basketball Operations. This role will play a key part in coordinating scouting logistics, creating scouting summary videos, managing scouting data, and contributing to player evaluation processes. The ideal candidate will have a passion for basketball, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.   Duration: September/October 2025 – August 1, 2026 (Flexible Start Date)   Key Responsibilities • Coordinate and track scouting credentials for team scouts attending various scouting events. • Maintain and distribute the scouting schedule. • Input and maintain scouting reports and evaluations in the team’s internal scouting database. • Assist in compiling and organizing player summaries based on multiple scouting reports. • Support the creation of comprehensive scouting summary reports for internal use. • Create video edits highlighting key strengths and weaknesses of assigned players, based on scouting reports and analytical insights. • Collaborate with the Analytics Department on cross-functional projects related to player evaluation and scouting efficiency. • Perform quality control checks on scouting reports to ensure accuracy and consistency. • Provide general support to the Basketball Operations staff, including printing documents, updating reports, taking notes in scouting and department meetings, and fulfilling other administrative or project-based requests.   Qualifications • Previous experience working with a basketball team is strongly preferred — such as serving as a student manager, graduate assistant, former player, or in another support role for a collegiate basketball program. • Strong knowledge of basketball at the collegiate and professional levels. • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills. • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with data entry systems. • Experience with video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, Sportscode, or similar). • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. • Demonstrated humility and eagerness to learn in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.   Preferred Skills • Familiarity with basketball scouting terminology and evaluation frameworks. • Basic understanding of basketball analytics and performance metrics. • Experience working in a team environment under tight deadlines. • Familiarity with scouting and video platforms such as Synergy, Second Spectrum, or Sports Code.
