AV Production Engineer

Position: AV Production Engineer 

Department: Production Technology  

Reports To: Sr. Manager Events, Projects and Production Technology 

POSITION SUMMARY: 

Rogers Arena is looking for an AV Production Engineerto join our Production Technology team. This position is a key technical role responsible for delivering outstanding AV experiences for games, concerts, and corporate events across the venue. From NHL games to premium space events, this role requires deep technical knowledge, creative problem-solving, and a proactive team-first mindset. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

(Other duties may be assigned, as required) 

• Operate the in-bowl audio system during Canucks, Warriors, and other live events.
• Act as the house AV representative for special events, managing concourse systems, COM deployment, suite speaker setup, and in-house video signal routing.
• Serve as the lead contact for all AV requests for events, including Scoreboard graphic playback, Minimal lighting programming for atmosphere in the bowl, Audio, PowerPoint and special meeting requests
• Configure and troubleshoot Optocore audio networks and Crestron-based systems.
• Operate AV systems for small-scale events in premium spaces (Captains Room, Loge, Sportsbar, etc.).
• Provide support for AV infrastructure in key spaces such as the Captains Room, Loge, Sportsbar, suites, and concourses.
• Record and support VO sessions, sound design, and in-house content capture for Game Presentation.
• Learn and understand arena bulkhead and signal flow systems across the venue. Manage and troubleshoot AV-related issues across audio, video, network systems, and hardware. Support network-connected AV devices, including projectors, computers, amplifiers, and related infrastructure. Provide technical support to internal departments for operational and event-related AV requests.
• Maintain all AV equipment and report any issues proactively.
• Maintain tidiness and organization of the Audio Room, including tool tracking, supply management, and requisitions.
• Train and mentor new crew members and provide technical leadership during live events.
• Schedule AV crew for events, ensuring coverage, communication, and readiness.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:  

• 7+ years of work experience operating and maintaining digital consoles
• 5 or more years’ experience in an AV customer service environment
• Completion of courses directly related to the audio and video industry
• Familiarity with live event workflows
• Strong knowledge of electronics handling, troubleshooting and repairs
• Physical ability to perform hands-on AV installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting tasks
• Must be okay with heights, as some work will be on the catwalk.
• Team leadership or mentoring experience
• Exceptional organizational and time management skills and the ability to handle multiple projects and tasks
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to make decisions under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Availability to work evenings and weekends as required by the event schedule
