TITLE: Pride First Team Video Performance Analyst

**DEPARTMENT:**Team Operations Pride

REPORTS TO: Director of Scouting & Analytics FLSA: Full-Time; Exempt

WHAT SETS YOU APART

The Pride First Team Video Performance Analyst serves as a crucial member of the soccer operations staff, responsible for delivering integrated video and data analysis to enhance team and individual player performance. This role combines cutting-edge video technology, statistical analysis, and tactical knowledge to provide actionable insights for coaching staff, supporting player development and competitive success. The Pride First Team Video Performance Analyst will report to the Director of Scouting and Analytics and work collaboratively with the Orlando Pride First Team Head Coach, technical staff, and performance department to optimize decision-making across all areas of team operations. The ideal candidate combines technical expertise with soccer intelligence, brings innovative thinking to problem-solving, and is dedicated to supporting the development and success of our players and team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute comprehensive video and data analysis for all Orlando Pride First Team matches (home and away) and training sessions.
  • Conduct systematic post-match analysis combining video review with performance metrics.
  • Create detailed tactical breakdowns for both team and individual performance evaluation.
  • Develop pre-match opposition analysis reports integrating video scouting, statistical trends, and tactical insights.
  • Produce real-time and post-session analysis of training activities to support coaching objectives.
  • Design and produce customized video edits including situational cut-ups, player-specific compilations, and tactical sequences.
  • Generate individual player development packages highlighting areas for improvement and progression in collaboration with the Player Development Coach.
  • Create opposition scouting reports with tagged video sequences organized by phase of play, set pieces, and tactical patterns.
  • Deliver timely video content to coaching staff and players via appropriate platforms in formats optimized for review and learning.
  • Collect, manage, and analyze performance data from multiple sources (match statistics, tracking data, physical metrics).
  • Integrate video analysis with quantitative performance metrics to provide context-rich insights.
  • Collaborate with sports science and medical staff to align video analysis with player load management and injury prevention strategies.
  • Develop and maintain performance dashboards and visual reports for coaches and technical staff.
  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) aligned with the Orlando Pride Game Model.
  • Maintain and optimize video capture systems for matches and training sessions (drone footage, fixed cameras, tactical cameras, broadcast feeds).
  • Manage video analysis software platforms and ensure seamless integration across systems.
  • Oversee equipment inventory including cameras, recording devices, and peripheral technology.
  • Research emerging technologies and methodologies in performance analysis and make recommendations for system enhancements.
  • Ensure data security and compliance with NWSL data management protocols.
  • Work closely with coaching staff to understand analytical needs and deliver tailored insights.
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all team-related information.
  • Support player pathway development by sharing insights with the Player Development Coach and performance staff as appropriate.
  • Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and innovations in football performance analysis.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities and analyst networks.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of analysis processes and workflows.
  • Other projects and duties as assigned by the Director of Scouting & Analytics.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Sports Science, Performance Analysis, Data Analytics, Sports Management, or related field required; Master's degree in relevant field preferred.
  • Professional certifications in performance analysis (e.g., ISPAS, PFSA, HUDL Academy, IPSO) highly desirable.
  • Minimum 2+ years of experience in performance analysis within collegiate or professional soccer.
  • Demonstrated understanding of soccer tactics and game models at the elite level.
  • Proven experience with women's football analysis preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of both men's and women's game contextual differences.
  • Experience working in high-performance environments with professional athletes.
  • Technical Skills.
  • Video Analysis Platforms: Advanced proficiency in industry-standard software including:
    • Hudl Sportscode or equivalent advanced coding platforms
    • Hudl and/or alternative video distribution systems
    • Wyscout or similar scouting databases
  • Competency with statistical analysis tools (Microsoft Excel, Tableau, R, Python, or similar).
  • Proficient in video editing software and multimedia production.
  • Familiar with tracking systems, GPS/wearable technology platforms, and data visualization tools.
  • Working knowledge of Statsbomb, Opta, or other event data providers preferred.
  • Ability to interpret complex data and translate insights into actionable recommendations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to present technical information clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Outstanding organizational skills with ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and prioritize effectively.
  • Meticulous approach to data accuracy and quality control.
  • Strong team player who works effectively across departments.
  • Flexible and solution-oriented in a dynamic, high-pressure environment.
  • Self-motivated with strong sense of ownership and accountability.
  • Quick learner of new software and technologies.
  • Availability to work flexible hours including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays aligned with match and training schedules.
  • Willingness to travel for away matches and competitions as required.
  • Ability to work on-site during all matches and training sessions.
  • Physical capability to operate video equipment and manage technology setups.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to attain and maintain SafeSport certification.
  • Ability to pass a background check.
  • Maintain highest levels of professionalism and confidentiality within elite sports environment.

About Orlando City SC & Orlando Pride:

 

In November 2013, Orlando City Soccer Club was awarded a Major League Soccer (MLS) franchise, becoming the league’s 21st franchise. The team began play in March 2015, with 62,510 fans packing the then-Orlando Citrus Bowl for the Club’s MLS debut.  

The Lions have reached the postseason in five-consecutive seasons (2020-24), qualified for the Concacaf Champions Cup (formerly Concacaf Champions League) in both 2023 and 2024, and reached their first final in 2020 during the MLS is Back Tournament. In 2022, Orlando City won its first championship of its MLS era, lifting the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup trophy, which also marked the first championship by any professional team in the City Beautiful. Prior to its time in MLS, Orlando City boasted a decorated history in the United Soccer League, winning the league’s championship in both the 2011 and 2013 seasons. 

In October 2015, the Orlando Pride was announced as the 10th team in the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL), bringing professional women’s soccer to the state of Florida for the first time. The team began play in April 2016, setting a then-league single-game attendance record in its first-ever home game, with 23,403 fans witnessing the Club’s first win.  

The Pride feature a star-studded roster of domestic and international talent and, in 2024, brought the first professional major league title to the city of Orlando, with the Club winning the NWSL Championship. The season saw the Pride complete the double, winning both the Championship and the NWSL Shield as the best team in the regular season, capping off a historic campaign that set numerous league records. Former Orlando City defender Seb Hines serves as the team’s head coach, not only the first Black head coach in the league, but also the first to win both the Championship and the NWSL Shield, and the 2024 NWSL Coach of the Year.

 

In 2017, both teams moved into its privately-owned, soccer-specific venue – Inter&Co Stadium – located in the heart of downtown Orlando.

 

In July 2021, the Club – which includes Orlando City SC, the Orlando Pride, Orlando City B (MLS NEXT Pro) and Inter&Co Stadium – was purchased by the Wilf Family, who also own the Minnesota Vikings of the National Football League.
