WHAT WE EXPECT OF YOU
SUMMARY
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Platform Engineer to work with our Architecture team to help design, build, and optimize the platforms that power our applications across both cloud and on-premises environments. The ideal candidate will be deeply experienced in containerization, orchestration, and automation, with strong hands-on expertise in Kubernetes, Docker, and modern platform technologies.
This role will drive the reliability, scalability, and performance of our platforms, while collaborating with development and infrastructure teams to deliver seamless, self-service, and resilient environments for our engineering organization.
NOTE - This role is fully remote.
**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Platform Engineering & Operations*** Design, build, and maintain scalable platform solutions for hybrid cloud and on-premises workloads
- Develop, optimize, and support Kubernetes clusters (AKS, EKS, GKE, OpenShift, or on-prem distributions) and containerized applications
- Implement and manage infrastructure as code (IaC) using Terraform, Ansible, or equivalent
- Ensure platform services are secure, resilient, and highly available
Automation & Orchestration* Create automated workflows for deployment, scaling, monitoring, and lifecycle management
- Implement CI/CD pipelines that integrate seamlessly with the platform
- Drive adoption of GitOps principles across platform operations.
Collaboration & Enablement* Partner with developers, DevOps, infrastructure, and security teams to define platform requirements
- Deliver self-service platform capabilities that empower engineering teams
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to best practices, standards, and technical documentation
Monitoring & Optimization* Build observability frameworks (logging, metrics, tracing) to ensure performance and reliability
- Troubleshoot complex infrastructure and orchestration issues across cloud and on-premises environments
- Continuously improving cost efficiency and platform utilization
QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge Areas/Experience***Required 7+ years of experience in platform, DevOps, or infrastructure engineering roles
- Strong knowledge of Linux systems administration and networking fundamentals
- Experience implementing monitoring, logging, and observability (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, OpenTelemetry)
- Familiarity with security best practices in containerized and hybrid environments
- Experience with service mesh technologies (Istio, Linkerd)
- Background in SRE practices and site reliability metrics (SLAs, SLOs, SLIs)
- Hands-on experience with hybrid networking, VPNs, and private connectivity between on-prem and cloud
- Familiarity with database and storage orchestration in Kubernetes environments
- Previous work in a large-scale enterprise platform or regulated industry
- Deep hands-on expertise with:
- Containerization & orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes (managed and self-hosted)
- Cloud providers: AWS, Azure, or GCP (multi-cloud experience a plus)
- On-premises technologies: VMware, bare metal, or private cloud solutions
- IaC & automation: Terraform, Ansible, Puppet/Chef, Helm, ArgoCD, Flux, or equivalent
- CI/CD pipelines: Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, and similar
Education/Certifications* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field/experience
Required Skills* Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills
