MLB Data Analyst

Location: Remote (U.S.) Job Type: Full-time

Job Responsibilities:

• Analyze player performance data from MLB, MiLB, college, and amateur levels (TrackMan, Hawk-Eye, Synergy, Blast, Rapsodo, etc.) • Build advanced statistical models to evaluate player value, projection, and development trends • Translate complex metrics (xwOBA, K%, EV, spin axis, etc.) into clear, actionable insights for agents and player development staff • Design and maintain dashboards and visualization tools for internal reporting and player presentations • Monitor prospect and draft class data, identifying emerging trends and undervalued talent • Collaborate with scouting and player development teams to integrate analytics with on-field evaluations • Communicate findings effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences

Required Skills & Experience:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, or related field • 2–5+ years of experience in baseball analytics, player development, or sports data science • Expertise in Python or R (NumPy, Pandas, scikit-learn, tidyverse, etc.) • Strong SQL skills and experience managing large, complex datasets • Proficiency with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, or Plotly) • Deep understanding of baseball metrics and modern analytics frameworks - including Statcast data, advanced sabermetrics, and biomechanical metrics • Familiarity with machine learning techniques for predictive modeling and clustering • Experience with database APIs (Baseball Savant, TrackMan, Synergy, or similar) • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Bonus Points For:

• Experience working with MLB or MiLB data directly • Background in econometric or arbitration modeling • Familiarity with NCAA and high school player tracking systems • Love of the game - and a drive to help players reach their potential through smarter insights
