Due to our continued growth, we are looking for someone with an understanding and interest in sports analytics to join our Quantitative Research team. Quantitative Researchers work to better understand markets and to identify, develop and improve trading strategies. You will have access to the most comprehensive sports statistics and trading data. You’ll use your mathematical and analytical skills to design, test, and refine data-driven models and strategies. This position will likely require intermittent international travel.</span></p><p style="margin-bottom: 0cm;"><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"> </span></p><p style="margin-bottom: 0cm;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;"><strong>Tasks will include:</strong></span></p><ul><li><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;">Understanding, </span><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;">refining, and maintaining our current exchange-trading strategies</span></li><li><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Collaborate with traders, quants, and developers to improve our mathematical models and software </span></li><li><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Trading sports events occasionally to enhance understanding of market dynamics </span></li><li><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Build and calibrate probabilistic models for sports outcomes. </span></li><li><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Analysing past trades and historical data in a constant search for improvement </span></li><li><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Designing, testing, and evaluating new model ideas through simulation and backtesting frameworks </span></li><li><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Developing tools useful for trading </span></li><li><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Presenting findings and recommendations to traders and stakeholders in a clear and data-driven manner</span></li></ul><br><b>What we're looking for</b><br><ul><li><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">A Bachelor’s degree (or higher) with research experience in a numerate or technical discipline such as Mathematics, Stats, Computer Science, Physics, etc.</span></li><li><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Exceptional quantitative, statistical and probabilistic reasoning skills.  </span></li><li><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Very strong <strong>attention to detail</strong>.</span></li><li><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Interest in sports data/analytics with an understanding of some subset of--NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, Soccer or Tennis</span></li><li><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Knowledge of data mining and modelling</span></li><li><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;">Strong programming ability (Python, C#, or both); experience with libraries such as Pandas and NumPy a plus. </span></li><li><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment</span></li><li><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Strong interpersonal and English communication skills</span></li><li><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Attentiveness and ability to react to changing priorities while managing multiple tasks is essential</span></li><li><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Knowledge of the <strong>betting or prediction markets</strong> is a plus</span></li></ul>
