Quantitative Research Intern

The Detroit Lions are seeking a motivated and independent intern to complete a football-based quantitative research project. This is a remote, part-time, paid internship structured as an educational and professional development opportunity. The internship will require approximately 15 hours of work per week for 10 weeks, and will include regular check-ins with the project lead and project milestones.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

Passion for the game of football Intellectual curiosity and enthusiasm for answering questions with data Strong quantitative intuition and skills Ability to build statistical models in R or Python Coursework in statistics and/or machine learning Strong work ethic, integrity, and commitment to confidentiality. Self-directed, proactive, and able to work independently Interns must perform all work from within the United States. The work location will be treated as the intern’s physical location. Work Environment:

This is a remote internship. Interns are expected to maintain a safe and distraction-free work environment. The organization recommends that interns establish an ergonomic workstation. Interns are encouraged to take regular breaks and to report any discomfort related to their work setup.

Compensation: $3,000 total stipend for a 10-week internship
